Its difficult to admit, and I still can't believe I did such a foolish thing, but I did. I left my wallet at Kohl's counter on Saturday... there I said it. To make the matter worse, I didn't realize that it was missing until today afternoon. Even then I couldn't believe that I might have left it while shopping, I searched it at home, in office, in other bags. It certainly helped that we just did our spring cleaning so there was no clutter where it could possibly go hiding. Once, I couldn't locate it in home, the idea of me leaving it at Kohl's counter begun to seem more and more viable. Still, to be safe I called up and blocked my charge card. When BEB came to know of the missing wallet, he offered to drive me to the Kohl's and ask about it.
And rest was easy, the store was almost deserted when we reached there, the customer service had two nice ladies, who made a couple of calls and asked someone to get my wallet there. A nice gentleman came and after asking my name, he handed me my wallet. I was so relieved. I'll try to be more careful with this thing in the future. A lost wallet could easily mean stolen identity here.
And a big THANK YOU to all the nice people at Kohl's. You guys rock!!!

Oh well, Relieved!!!
BEB went to Mexico to get his visa stamped. Although he had all the paperwork ready and everyone assured us that there
are no issues in getting it stamped, but I was really nervous and so was he. Today I kept calling his cellphone since 10:00 am even though I knew that he's not gonna carry it to the interview and it would be lying in the hotel somewhere. Finally he called back at 12:30, said he got it stamped without any trouble
Phew! I am so relieved. I had postponed so many things waiting for this to happen. We have practically no furniture in our home, I just thought I'll buy it once this visa thing is sorted out. Now I can just breathe easy and plan that long awaited trip to India. I miss my family soooo much.
Happy :-)

Learning the ropes...and getting a hang of it
Okay so I have been away from the action for a while. This has happened because of the move, as well as a trip that we took with our friends. But now that dust has settled (not literally..fortunately) after the move, I am back in the groove. (Wow! this rhymes well)
Off late I had been collecting coupons wherever I could find them, and that is well...everywhere. The newspaper, mailbox, magazines, emails, stores and at other bloggers. I hadn't really used them except for a couple of things (savings of like 2$). But this Sunday, I found that I was going to run out of a couple of toiletries very soon. Since we were going to go to Walgreens anyway, I thought of stocking up on all my washing and cleaning supplies as well. So I took my bundle of coupons and worked my way through the aisles. When I checked out, I paid 73$...please don't gasp, I am a newbie, remember...and I'm learning the ropes. What the good part was...I saved 22$ by using coupons. And I got a 2$ RR back. Which I used today, so thats a 24$ savings. There are still a couple of things that I could have done better:
-Check out the Walgreens easy saver insert. I didn't do that and today I found that there were indeed a couple of good deals on the things I bought Sunday.
-I should have read Money Saving Mom's Walgreens 101. It was an eye opener for me. If you're going to shop at Walgreens, its a must read.
